"I just go with the flow, so any style can be in my music - that makes it exciting." ~ Yoko Ono
According to some psychologists, the"flow" state is a heightened state of awareness cultivated through a delicate balance of physical and mental activity. Through this uninterrupted flow of attention we can begin to experience heightened states of meditation...space and time become elastic, we expand into pure presence and the result is "being moved" by a greater intelligence. One that transcends rational, conceptual knowledge.
This is what happens to me when I teach. With minimal planning and agenda, all is left is the complete presence of the present. It is within these moments of raw, intuitive presence-ing do I feel closest to the student, and ultimately to God. ~PRESENCE, PRINCIPLE, PLAY~
Jodi's style continues to evolve as it shifts from creative movement and elemental sequencing sometimes formatted in krama vinyasa sequences to more free-flowing, non-dogmatic approaches to the practice. Always drawing insight from her personal practice, lately, her inspiration stems from the body's bio-intelligence through intuitive, breath-informed movements not always resembling traditional yogic asana. Somatic therapy, shamanic healing, energetic balancing, and restorative yoga have been the optimal medicine for her private students who suffer from all types of dis-ease like anxiety disorders, chronic fatigue syndrome, parkinson's, PTSD, cancer and heart disease.
~Heal Yourself, Heal Humanity~
Jodi's hope is to give students the space to tap into their own innate wisdom and cultivate sustainable tools for a balanced, happy life. She believes that one does not have to roll out a mat in order to experience yoga, yet it has become an effective starting point to a life long journey of unveiling the truth and healing within.
